Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not at all. Sprig + Stone is not an art class. Sessions are exploratory and curiosity-based. You work at your own pace with the tools provided, and there's no technique instruction, no critique, and no comparing your work to anyone else's. People who haven't touched a paintbrush since grade school walk in and walk out genuinely surprised by what they made.
-
A guided creative experience is a structured session where you're led through a watercolor painting process from start to finish. The guidance removes the pressure of a blank page so your mind can settle into the work itself.
This isn't a paint-and-sip. Those events are built around socializing, with painting as the backdrop. Sprig + Stone is designed the other way around. The creative process is the experience, and it's grounded in something real: focused creative activity has been shown to reduce cortisol and activate a state of relaxed attention that's hard to access any other way. You're welcome to enjoy a drink at a venue that offers one. But the painting is the point, not the prop.
-
You'll create an original watercolor painting during the session. Subjects vary by workshop but are always approachable and fully guided. The goal isn't a gallery piece. It's yours to keep, and most people are genuinely surprised by what they produce.

Yes. Session length, themes, and framing can all be shaped around your goals and audience.
The paint palette is part of that conversation too. Whether you're thinking a seasonal theme, a holiday palette, or colors tied to your brand or event, there's room to make it specific to you.
The foundation stays the same: guided, inclusive, grounded in presence. Everything around it is a conversation.
